| Vintage - 12" R2-D2 First Shot |
   
What may appear on the surface to be a slightly yellowed production R2-D2 from Kenner's vintage 12" line is actually a prototype first shot with copyrights molded in translucent plastic. The body and legs are so translucent, in fact, that holding the figure up to the light makes the R2 glow slightly.
 
The rear hatch, which holds the Death Star plans, is molded in the production color of white and the extreme difference between the production color and the translucent plastic can be seen when viewing the rear of the figure. The overall paint job differs slightly from the production version and is sloppy and misapplied in places. The plans themselves are also different from the production versions as they are lacking the "death star plans" wording.
