While Star Wars Celebration V means so many things to everyone, for me it's about what can I find that is R2-D2 related. Here are a few pics of some of the more interesting finds. First up is Ben Burtt signing the inside of an R2 Builders dome. Ben Burtt is the original sound designer for Star Wars and is responsible for the sounds R2-D2 makes. Look close and that's Matt Wood ( General Grievous ) with a video camera! Next up we've got these funky traffic barriers that someone decorated to look like our favorite Astromech. There must have been 5 or 6 done up like this near the main entrance. The R2D2Central.com badges were created by Chris Holoka, who also did the Rebelscum.com, TheForce.net and ForceCast.net badges that were available at the show. I'm hoping to make them available in a set soon. Lastly, Hasbro's vintage Return of the Jedi Jabba Sail Barge R2-D2. This figure rocks, cannot wait to get one for the collection!
UPDATE:
Here are two more images I found today, one is of a new R2-D2 vinyl bank that is coming in August of 2010. The other image comes from the LEGO builders group who had an enormous display they were building similar to the diorama builders.
