As the Rebels hang in mid-air, Artoo extends an arm with a cutter and quickly slices through the thick rope, sending everyone tumbling to the ground - only to find themselves surrounded and captured by Ewok warriors. I finally got my hands on a UGH R2-D2! This special chase figure is part of the Ultimate Galactic Hunt promotion: a series of 12 variant figures. It is the same exact figure but the packaging has gold foil on it and the exclusive coin is also gold.

Everyone who presented at the collecting panels during Celebration IV was given a full set of gold coins enclosed in a beautiful acrylic display case as shown here. Above is the R2-D2 from my own gold set. I presented on two collecting panels, one for focus collecting, and one for collecting clubs. Just figured you all might like to see it added to the archive!

From Rebelscum.com: "Rebelscum reader Joe Macudzinski writes in to alert variation hunters of a purple-hued blast effect he found of R2-D2 while searching for new figures. Although Joe found 4 like this, there's no word if this is an intentional change, or an error similar to the Holographic Obi-Wan Kenobi from last year."

The very first wave for the 2007 30th Anniversary Collection has shown up online and our main man R2-D2 is in it! Figure #04 - R2-D2 is from the fiery scene aboard General Grievous' ship in Episode III where R2 foils two Super Battle Droids impeding his mission to save his Jedi buddies.
