R2-KT & 501st Charity Patches
Dustin on June 27, 2012 at 04:48 PM CST:
From Albin Johnson, founder of the 501st, and manservant to R2-KT.
"In 2011 we raised money for seven different charities - good work! So many people asked for other 501st and KT items we went ahead and made them. Hard to get the word out, so here's some info on some of the items we've done this year.
R2-KT 4th of July Patches
Shipping to me today! Proceeds go to the Wounded Warrior project and the USO. We have plenty available in all three designs by Dave Liew!
R2-KT ST. Patrick's Day & Fan Club Patches
Did you miss out on past runs? We still have plenty of St. Patrick's Day R2-KT patches (all three designs) and Fan Club patches (v1, v4, and v5). Those benefit St. Baldrick's, Red Cross, Sunshine Foundation, and Give Kids the World village (respectively).
We are rebooting the whole server set-up and getting new volunteers to help. So you should see more activity out of the academy! Please email me directly if you have any issues with a child's profile on the website or if you'd like to volunteer with helping us run this important club for kids. We have all the unit patches available for the GA if you haven't picked one up yet - they are all by Giancarlo Bockos and look amazing!
Walking Wounded Helmet patches raised over $1500 for Sean Dudley TB3306 to help with his medical bills following his cancer diagnosis. Thank you for helping out a trooper! We still have plenty of the _original_ WW patches available for anyone who wants one. If you know of anyone disabled who costumes in the 501st or Rebel Legion, let us know and we'll send them a patch.
All items are $7 each and include shipping to anywhere (GA members only pay $3 per patch for GA patches). Paypal to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com (both addresses work)
Hope you all have a great summer. Thanks so much for helping support disabled troopers, kids in costuming, and a variety of charities related to children. We stuff the envelopes but YOU make the difference!
AL (Tk210 and R2-KT's man-servant)"
