Wow check out this very cool R2-D2 themed recycling bin that was showcased recently at Coachella, a music and arts festicval held in California. This along with a couple of dozen other bins were dressed up Coachella 2010, you can view the pics here on Flickr!

After playing with them for a while Simon decided that he wanted a similar R2 car to race in the next Pinewood Derby. So this year with some basic planning and woodworking we were able to make it happen. We thought it turned out well and wanted to share it with you.
By the way, R2 was fast but finished in 2nd out of 5 other cars in the den. R2 did receive the most attention from the other kids and parents though!"
